The temperatures dropped to below 20C / 68F when we arrived in Taipei / Taiwan. The flight attendant jokingly reminded us to get our winter jackets out when we left the plane. We stopped laughing about it when the disappearing sun saw us running for our backpacks to get our warm clothes out.

Thankfully were are hosted by several Servas hosts who gave us a very warm welcome. They presented us with delicious Taiwanese food, extensive sightseeing and plenty of insights in Taiwanese history, culture and hospitality. We traveled all over the Taipei, explored the old suburbs and were taken to the nearby mountain villages and coast line. And we enjoyed every minute of it despite cold winds and rain.

After 5 days Taipei we are now on our 11 day itinerary around the island of Taiwan.
