The container ship Amber Lagoon carried Susanne and her dog from Germany to Africa 10 years ago.

Here she found her place in the world in the Little Karoo, called it after the ship which brought her here and never went back.

Today she and her boyfriend run a beautiful camp for travelers on a hill which she climbs every morning to admire the sun rise.  We joined her on the hill for 3 mornings.
