Thursday June 26 Nadine and I gave our first public presentation about our world trip after our return to Los Angeles. Sponsored by the Arroyo S.E.C.O TimeBank in collaboration with the Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena we were lucky to book the beautiful community room with a large digital projection and seating for 50 people. All seats were taken when we started our presentation and by the time the lights went back up there were even more people standing in the back of the room.
In this first presentation we wanted to show different aspects of our way of traveling. Therefore we focused on 6 of the 19 countries we visited: Bolivia – exploring diverse landscapes; Malawi – participating in community projects; Jordan – volunteering for a local business; Myanmar – discovering new backpacker territory; Taiwan – accepting the kindness of strangers; and Japan – bridging cultural differences. And of course we showed plenty of pictures of countries and people.
The feedback we got was outstanding and encourages us to plan more presentations on different topics.
