Taking advantage of the beautiful late summer weather in Turkey we took the overnight bus to Antalya. 

Antalya is Turkey’s biggest international sea resort, located on the Lycian coast which is also called the Turkish Riviera. In 2012, Antalya became the third most visited city in the world by number of international arrivals, ranking behind Paris and London, respectively.

We were surprised how laid back and pleasant the city was and enjoyed 2 days of swimming outside the harbor, scouting the side streets for local restaurants and visiting the ancient city of Perge and the amazing Antalya museum which displays the most important finds from the Lycian coast’s excavation sides.

By now we are big fans of the Turkish tourism industry: People are very friendly, the quality of the accommodations is very high – and we are able to negotiate the prices down to our budget, food is delicious and very affordable, and transportation is easy.
