Before heading out into the Sacred Valley and to Machu Picchu here are a few interesting sights we visited just outside of Cusco:

Piquillacta – a settlement build by the pre-Inca Wari culture

Tipón – build by the Incas. The purpose might have been a park for the upper class or an agricultural centrum.
